The 4 seasons among the wonders of Val di Fassa

In the spring when the snow melts and nature reawakens, Val di Fassa is an explosion of colours and the meadows are dotted with the first blooms. The days are getting longer and the pleasant temperatures invite you to take your first spring walks, a little sample of what you can enjoy from the end of June with the first high-altitude excursions under a bright sun. In summer, the nature of the Val di Fassa is present in all its glory and is the perfect setting for numerous events, such as the Dolomites Skirace in Canazei at the end of July, the high mountain running competition race valid for the world qualifications, the Feast of te anter tobiè in July and August also in Canazei, allowing you to relive the Ladin traditions; Sounds of the Dolomites in July and August, the classic meeting of musical composers and musicians in the mountains, and then Val di Fassa Bike devoted to mountain bikers in mid-September.

In autumn, the leafy larch trades its bright summer colours for spectacular autumn tones, which make a magical atmosphere for the Top Wine Symposium 2950 in mid-October in Pordoi, one of the highest food and wine events in the world and a fantastic opportunity for taste wines from Trentino and typical Ladin gastronomic products.

From December to March winter takes over. The Val di Fassa is tinged with white and imposing mountains seem even more unattainable. The heavy snow gives way to clear sunny days that offer unparalleled fun in the snow. On the last Sunday of January, right in the middle of the snow’s whiteness, the famous Marcialonga takes place, the legendary competition on the slopes of Fiemme and Fassa and the undisputed queen of the Italian cross-country skiing marathons, the Sellaronda Ski Marathon of Canazei in February, a fascinating alpine ski race at night, to conclude the season in April with the Pizolada delle Dolomiti in Moena, an alpine ski race along the most picturesque slopes around the San Pellegrino Pass.
